Port of Açu is the largest port complex in Latin America with a total area of 130 km² and nine terminals and eleven operating companies in the port complex. The port currently counts on crude oil transshipment operations, maritime fuel operations, naval repair services and handles iron ore, project cargo, break bulk and general cargo operations. The largest gas hub in Latin America will also be established in Açu with two thermo power plants already licensed.
