NBCC hosts happy hour to welcome new associates.

Among the companies that have recently joined the Norwegian Brazilian Chamber of Commerce are Brunel, Halliburton, CAS Visas, Costagille, Damen, Excekerate Energy, Gelato, Grupo CBO, IKM Testing, Med Rio, Norton Rose Fulbright, Ocean Pact, Ouvi, Tampnet, Technion and Wilhelmsen Ship Management.

During the networking event on September 28, 2017, NBCC welcomed the new associates to the NBCC family. The event took place at the rooftop of the Marriott Hotel in Copacabana, and besides the lovely view from the rooftop, a raffle was among the things that attracted the guests to the event.

«Today we have about 120 members from a variety of sectors, and we wanted to offer this welcoming event to both old and new associates to better integrate everyone and give them a chance to actually meet», NBCC president Rachid Felix says.

Technological input
Founded in 1919, Halliburton is one of the world’s largest providers of products and services to the energy industry.

«Halliburton takes an active part in the activities of the American Chamber of Commerce and prides itself on being an international company with a large presence in Stavanger, Norway, as well as operations around the world. We believe that interaction with the chambers of commerce as well as with various agencies that promote international business add great value to Halliburton, both from a networking perspective as well as through technological seminars and workshops.  We look forward to the upcoming Team Norway event on November 6, 2017, on decommissioning and maintenance of fields in late production», says Daniel Garrido.

Halliburton has 1600 employees in Brazil with the biggest employee bases in Macaé and Mossoró. The Halliburton Brazilian headquarters are in Rio de Janeiro.

Brunel is an international company specialized in contracting, outsourcing and recruitment services to the energy industry.

«The chamber has a very impressive portfolio of companies. Although several of them are already on our client list, we see the chamber as an important channel for business, opening doors to new business opportunities, and as an arena where we can broaden our network and get to know the other companies more closely», says Felipe Mattos, Executive Business Developer at Brunel.

Brunel is a gold member of NBCC.

«International players operating in or with some connection to the oil and gas industry all have some kind of connection to Norwegian stakeholders. Brunel is Dutch and currently present in more than 40 countries, and we have close connection to all big players in the sector.»

Space to grow
17 new companies have joined the NBCC this year, and this might be seen as a sign of optimism.

«I have always been an optimist and I do think that the situation is improving. It is still difficult to operate in the Brazilian market, but the foundation of the market is strong, and through collaboration, we have been able to make important changes, and as a result making Brazil more attractive to future investments. But I believe that Brazil offers opportunities and space to grow. Brazil needs to grow and this is in itself an opportunity», says Rachid Felix (to the left in the photo).
