The 9th edition of Brasil Offshore took place in Macaé from June 20-23, 2017.

The Campos Basin is still responsible for 53 percent of the oil and 25 percent of the natuarl gas produced in Brazil, and 52.000 visitors were expected to the trade exhibition in Macaé. MO Partners, Norsafe, Marine Aluminum and Modex Energy were among the NBCC associates present as exhibitors and participants.

According to a press release, the 2017 edition of the event has 40,000 square meters pavilion, where several players from the national and international market will be offering solutions, technologies and equipment for the entire offshore chain. In a time of economic changes, to be in contact with companies and qualified buyers is even more important in order to plan investment strategies.

Brasil Offshore is the only event held within Brazil’s biggest Oil and Gas Exploration Basin. It is also the first major industry meeting in the first semester.

In addition to the networking provided by Brasil Offshore, other factors will be decisive for exhibitors and buyers to close deals. Among them are Law 13365/2016 – which increases the participation of operators in the exploration of pre-salt areas – and the return of foreign companies to Brazil. In view of the recovery in the price of oil in the country, several multinational companies have already announced that they will be resuming in 2017 investment programs in the drilling of offshore wells in the Brazilian coast.

The 9th edition of Brasil Offshore also marked that 40 years have passed since the Campos Basin was discovered.

The conference program during the event featured presentations on a variety of topics like wells and reservoirs, life extension, subsea and topside. Representatives of Statoil, DNV GL, Aker Solutions gave presentations during the technical conference.
