We welcome José Elias, Managing Director of Altera Infrastructure, as the new president of NBCC.

Jose Elias takes over after Alex Imperial, who really went the extra mile when the covid-19 pandemic hit Brazil. He extended his mandate to a total of 15 months, and deserves our deepest gratitude for tackling the difficult situation. Mr. Imperial is to thank for several important achievements in NBCC, and continues on our board of directors, where NBCC will still benefit from his experience and dedication.

Jose Elias is an international business leader with a success history in value creation, pioneering and turnaround. In a 25-year career, Mr Elias started a shipping company, led Global Oil and LNG shipping business portfolios and managed large organizations through difficult and successful times.

 

His main goals are always related to value creation through effective leadership, open communication, solid principles, and a keen interest in constant innovation.

 

Mr Elias joined Altera (formed Teekay) in 2017 leading Brazil Commercial, BD & Contracts, before becoming Managing Director for FPSO and Shuttle business. Since then, he is in charge of all activities of the company in Brazil.

 

Mr Elias holds a law degree from University of Sao Paulo – Brazil, and management trainings at Cranfield University and London Business School.

The new Vice-President of NBCC is Fernando Delapuerta, who represents the renewables energy company Statkraft. Juliana Meyer continues as Vice-President São Paulo.

 

The formal election of the new President and Vice-President will happen in an Extraordinary General Meeting on August 3, 2020.
